Recognition of prior learning
What is recognition of prior learning?
The Recognition of Prior Learning is a process whereby students can be exempt from some parts of their chosen programme of academic study by recognition of their learning from previous experiences or achievements as part of the admissions process.
It refers to the recognition of acquired ECTS credits/verification of learning outcomes through forms of prior formal education.
This reduces the number of courses required to complete student’s degree.
Applying for recognition of prior learning
In order to start the procedure of recognition of prior learning the following documentation is required:
- Complete request form and application form
- Certified transcript of records or a certified copy of diploma supplement
- Certified detailed description of the course/programme (content, number of teaching hours, literature, number of ECTS credits, etc.) for which recognition is requested.
Officially attested English translation of the documentation is required if these weren’t originally written in English or Croatian.
The applicant first submits the documentation to the course coordinator who evaluates their request and after that submits the request filled and signed by the course coordinator to the Office of International Relations.
Requests received after the stated deadline will not be considered.
