The Faculty of Medicine, Rijeka, offers opportunities for teaching mobility for academic staff and staff training for both academic and administrative staff through the Erasmus+ programmes. Mobilities can
can be combined to meet specific educational and professional goals.
These programme allow staff (teaching and administrative) to engage in teaching at partner institutions abroad, as well as to participate in training, job shadowing, and other professional development activities, enhancing both academic and administrative skills within an international context. Through this, the Faculty fosters knowledge exchange, strengthens professional networks, and contributes to the overall quality and internationalization of higher education.
Duration of Mobility
- Teaching Mobility: The duration of mobility for teaching can range from a minimum of 2 days (with at least 8 hours of teaching) to a maximum of 60 days, excluding travel days.
- Training Mobility: Staff training mobility must last at least 2 days, with a maximum duration of 60 days, excluding travel days.

Combination of Teaching and Training: If teaching is combined with training during the same period abroad, the minimum number of teaching hours per week is reduced to 4 hours (or for any shorter period of stay). If the mobility lasts for more than one week, the minimum number of teaching hours for any partial week must be proportional to the duration of that week.
The activity must be continuous and cannot be interrupted, unless there are justified reasons.
Requirements
Staff mobility for teaching purposes at partner higher education institutions can only be realized based on bilateral agreements established between the Faculty of Medicine Rijeka and foreign higher education institutions that holds the Erasmus University Charter.
For training mobility, a bilateral agreement is not required. However, if the training takes place at a higher education institution, that institution must hold the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
For teaching mobility activities, participants must hold a scientific-teaching position or artistic-teaching position or be in a assistant teaching position. It is also possible for a research assistant to participate, provided they are involved in teaching activities.
For training mobility, participants may be bot academic and administrative staff.
STAFF OBLIGATIONS
Before the Mobility
STEP 1
Erasmus Documentation Submission: As part of the Erasmus application process, staff members must submit the teaching plan (for teaching mobility) or work plan (for staff training). These plans must be signed and stamped by the authorized person at the receiving institution. The completed documentation should be submitted to the Erasmus International Mobility Centre of the University of Rijeka through the application link available on the official University of Rijeka website.
The list of required documentation for the application is available in the Call for Applications published by the University of Rijeka. Staff members interested in applying should refer to the call for detailed instructions on the necessary documents and submission process.
STEP 2
MOBILITY AGREEMENT
After applying for the Erasmus call at the University of Rijeka, the staff member must sign a Mobility Agreement (MA). This agreement must be signed by the staff member participating in the mobility, as well as by the authorized representatives at both the home and host institutions. The staff member is required to submit a copy of the signed Mobility Agreement, with all necessary signatures and stamps, to the Erasmus International Mobility Centre of the University of Rijeka and the International Office of the Faculty before the mobility period begins.
ERASMUS+ FINANCIAL SUPPORT AGREEMENT
A Financial Support Agreement for the Erasmus+ mobility (for teaching or training) must be signed. This agreement is prepared by the Erasmus International Mobility Centre of the University of Rijeka and must be signed by both the Rector of the University of Rijeka and the staff member receiving the financial support. The financial support for mobility will only be disbursed once this agreement has been signed.
The agreement must also be signed by staff members who are participating in the Erasmus mobility without financial support (zero-grant staff).
After the Mobility
Upon returning teaching and administrative staff must submit the following documents to the Erasmus International Mobility Centre of the University of Rijeka within 30 days:

Final Report: A final report must be submitted for teaching or staff training mobility. All participants will receive the final report form via email, which should be completed in the Mobility Tool database.
These documents are necessary to complete the mobility process and to finalize the administrative procedures related to Erasmus staff mobility.
