CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ENROLMENT INTO THE FIRST YEAR OF THE UNIVERSITY INTEGRATED UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDY PROGRAMME OF MEDICINE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEADING TO THE ACADEMIC TITLE OF DOCTOR OF MEDICINE
in the academic year 2024/2025

Study programme

Medical Studies in English language is an university integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme with a 6-year duration. The maximum number of admitted students is 50, and all the admitted students are expected to pay the tuition fee in the amount of EUR 10.000,00 per academic year (EUR 166,67 per 1 ECTS). The cost of the application for the entrance exam is EUR 200,00. The academic year starts in October, and admission is possible only into the winter semester. The tuition fee must be paid in full at enrolment.

The cost of enrolment fee for the academic year 2024/2025 is EUR 55,50.

Applicants who completed secondary school education, have taken the courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics for at least two years during secondary school education and passed the final graduation exam are eligible to apply.

Applications
Applications are received for each exam term until 10 working days prior to the exam term date. Applications for the spring exam term should be sent by June 28, 2024, for the summer exam term by June 28, 2024, and for the autumn exam term by August 30, 2024.. The week before the entrance exam takes place, an intensive preparatory course in Biology, Chemistry and Physics will be offered. The cost of the preparatory course is EUR 800,00.

The entrance exam will be organized on-site in a hybrid mode at the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Medicine premises, Braće Branchetta 20/I, 51000 Rijeka and simultaneously abroad:

• I.  May 10, 2024
• II. July 12, 2024
• III. September 13, 2024

The results of the entrance exam will be published on the Faculty official website (https://medical-studies-in-english.com/) on:

• I. May 13, 2024
• II. July 15, 2024
• III. September 16, 2024

The appeal period is 24 hours after the results are announced.

The fall entrance exam will take place only if there are available places left.

The documentation is submitted via a web application. When you receive the information that your application documents have been verified, please send the original documents by post to the following address: University of Rijeka, Faculty of Medicine, Medical Studies in English, Braće Branchetta 20, 51000 Rijeka.

Candidates whose applications submitted in the previous years were blocked due to non-compliance with the rules of admission are no longer allowed to submit their application for enrolment in the University  Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Study programme of Medicine in English language.

Incomplete and late applications and applications sent by e-mail or fax will not be considered.

Call for applications in the English language, detailed application requirements, the number of available places after each exam term, application procedure, list of documents, and enrolment information will be posted on the Faculty website https://medical-studies-in-english.com/ and are constituent parts of this call for applications.

Enrolment schedule:

Spring and Summer term: July 18 – July 19, 2024
Fall term: September 23 – September 24, 2024

According to the schedule above, all the enrolments will take place from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm.

It is important that you enrol at stated times. Your enrolment is only valid for one academic year at a time.

The Faculty of Medicine Rijeka is only responsible for conducting preparatory course and entrance examination for the University Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Study programme of Medicine in English language.
